Merry Christmas, everyone!

Mommy and I went to "Pose for PAWS" fundraising event at Bonifacio High Street and had our holiday picture taken. It was fun! This time, I made sure I behaved really well, and not give my mum a headache like before. That's my Christmas gift to her. ;)
.
We had a lot of fun hamming it up. Plus, it also feels extra good to know that we're helping out as well. Proceeds from the event will go to the animal shelter, Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
.
My mommy keeps our picture propped up on her desk at the office. She says it keeps her sane and puts a smile on her face.
.
"Pose for PAWS" has become a regular fund raising event. Maybe you can have your pictures taken next Christmas too!

Is It A Dog or A Cat?

My mom's been spending a lot of time in Pet Express lately. I hope she's shopping for my Christmas gifts (yes, plural!). And since she's always there, she's bound to meet more of the canine kind.
.
I've never met a Shih Tzu. My mom used to own 3 shih tzu pups way before she got me. I heard they're adorable, but really high maintenance. And since grooming salons weren't as popular and accessible at that time, her shih tzus looked like walking floor rags. That's basically one of her decisions to get me, a short-haired dachshund. Sure, I shed like crazy. But, look Ma, no tangles!
.
Still, some like getting all glammed and gussied up. So, off to the salon they go. Mom took pictures of Pet Express Grooming Salon patrons (with their parents' permission, of course) to show me what I'm missing. Can you imagine me with a lion's mane hairdo??? ;)
.
{Mimi looking chic in a Lion's Mane cut... haha}
{FYI, the groomer isn't finished yet!}

{Shadow: Ooh, so many thing to put on my Christmas list!}

PAWS and My GROW UP! Christmas Wish

My mom visited PARC (PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center) yesterday. It was such an eye-opener. I admit, I have a lot of growing up to do, because sometimes I can be really childish and bratty, but I do know that I'm lucky to have my humans in my life. I feel so blessed that I have a happy home and wonderful family, unlike the animals at the shelter, who have been victims of cruelty, neglect, and abuse.
.
It's a good thing that the efforts of PAWS (The Philippine Animal Welfare Society) volunteers have greatly helped a lot in rescuing those poor animals. They provide food, shelter, and so much love to the abused cats and dogs. Hopefully, they can help them find good, permanent homes too.
.
So, for my GROW UP! Christmas wish, I hope that more animals at the shelter get adopted soon. I wish they can be able to feel the joy and warmth of spending Christmas with a loving family too!
.
{Shawn, aptly named, was found at an anorexic state and covered in grease inside a tunnel on Shaw Boulevard.}
{Look how healthy he looks now, thanks to PAWS and his new mommy.}

{Mommy went to the PAWS Christmas Party, and all she got me was this pin...}
{The cat pin and cookie was for cat-lover Tita Gabby.}
{Oh, proceeds from the pins go to PAWS. For only P50 a pop, it's nice to know that you get to help my canine and feline friends on Christmas.}
.
If you want to help, check out their website:
.
Speaking of Christmas wishes, I haven't gotten my mommy anything for Christmas yet. I think I heard her say she wants a colored Moleskine to write on or something. I guess I can do that. Aren't moles like badgers? And isn't dachshund German for 'badger dog' anyway? ;) Now, if I can only manage to catch one for mommy...

Imp the Male Model (Part 2)

Do these dogs look really, really, really good-looking? That's because you've probably seen them on the Pet Express print ads that came out in Inquirer and Philstar the last 2 days. Not to mention that big ass billboard posted in SM Cubao (you can't miss it!). I've posted some behind-the-scenes photos of my co-models at work (but if I had my way, I'd be a solo superstar...). Being exiled aside, I think we all had a great time with our 15 minutes of fame. ;)

Imp the Diva (Part 1)

I threw a tantrum last week, and I think my mom is still pretty miffed about that. I don't get it, I was just acting the part. Isn't throwing tantrums what "superstars" are supposed to be doing?

{Imp on time out.}
{Hey, where'd everybody go?}

So this is what happened:

I was included in a hush-hush photoshoot for an upcoming concept store to be launched on December 11. It was a cool project.

My mom gave me a thorough cleaning the day before, so I knew it was gonna be big. I was excited. And the moment we got in the cab to go to the photographer's studio, my mom said something about bringing a dog (me!) and a catty cousin (I could hear and smell her, but I couldn't really see her), and paying double the price of cab fare.

The driver gets to take ME around town. HE should be the one paying TRIPLE! Anyway, off we go to San Lorenzo Village in Makati. We were stopped at the gate by the security guard.
He asked, 'Ma'am, ano pong gagawin niyo dun?' (Ma'am, what will you be doing there?)

'Photo shoot', my mom replied.

'Talaga po?' (Really?)

'Oo, yung aso ko!' (Yes, my dog!)

Yep, yep. That would be lil' old superstar me!

So, really, can you blame me for throwing a fit, when upon reaching the studio, I see the limelight being shared by other dogs??? Not one, not two, but three other dogs? Not to mention two annoying cats too? Huwaaaat??!!

It's not as if I actually bit anyone... But EXILED??! Hmph.

{It's no fun being on the outside looking in.}

{Are YOU looking at ME?}

{What's happening in there???}

(To be continued...)
